Although it’s not required, this step can help you save a lot of time when setting up your website.

You can import dozens or even hundreds of pre-built starter sites from the Astra, theme to use as the framework for your website.

All you have to do is import the basic starter site and modify the design and content to suit your requirements.

In essence, your website will be expertly developed within 15 minutes.

Even though you can always skip step and start from scratch when designing your website, we advise using a starter site, particularly if this is your first website.

This is how importing a pre-built starter site works with the Astra theme (the majority of other themes follow a similar method).

There should be an installation prompt for the starter site plugin when you install and activate the Astra theme.

If you are not immediately able to see this prompt, you can click the prompt in the sidebar by heading to Appearance → Astra.

The starter site import interface should automatically open once the Astra theme has been activated (which should happen automatically after clicking the button). If not, navigate to Appearance → Starter Sites to access it.

For your starter site, you can first select the content editor you wish to use. For the time being, we advise using the Block Editor in Astra’s interface, which is the default WordPress editor.

After that, you can explore each and every importable starter website. You can click on any website that sparks your curiosity to view a preview.

Click on the starter site you like to start the import wizard.

Your own logo can be uploaded on the first screen. Don’t worry if you still don’t have a logo! Simply ignore this for the time being and upload it later.

Next, you can personalize your website’s color scheme and font combination. Try not to worry too much about customizing your colours right now because you may always change these specifics later.

Finally, you can adjust import details in the Advanced Options by completing the last step. We suggest using the default settings for the majority of websites. Additionally, you can exclude the personal information field and not fill it out.

Click the Submit & Build My Website button to complete the process.

Your website should appear precisely like the starter site demo that you chose after a few seconds.
